I'm celebrating a very significant birthday this year...and my beautiful wife suggested that I mark the occasion with an equally significant train set. Permission and opportunity came together shortly thereafter when this Rich-Art blue 256E and its five-car (baggage, buffet, Pullman, dining and observation) consist appeared on the 'Bay!

Just received it, and set it up for an early morning "branches and railing" shot. Enjoy!

Very nice set. I have not seen that particular combination before.

As many know, Dick Mayer passed away a few months ago, but his trusted partner of many years, Butch Alverado just passed away a few weeks ago.

Sharp! That blue looks really nice. There is an individual nearby who is selling his 269E Blue Comet set with the 700 series passenger cars and the add on Express Reefer. Everytime I look at it I can feel my wallet start to levitate out of my pocket. Happy Birthday! Look forward to seeing what you get next year!

A fine way to celebrate! I really like that set.

Here is my favorite "O" Gauge tinplate set: a MTH Tinplate Traditions Ives/Lionel 1616

And here is Extreme Tinplate at Golden Gate Live Steamers during the TCA National Convention in Sacramento last year.
