When I built my mountains I used plaster over cardboard strips. If I did it over I would go with foam board because it appears much easier to secure trees into foam rather than a thin plaster shell. Anyone have any methods for securing trees into plaster. I have some fairly large ones. One of my pet peeves is seeing a nice layout then noticing all the tilted trees.

MAybe your thin plaster shell is too thin. I always add a thick layer of plaster just so I can add trees. Best method at least for me is to drill a hole in the shell and use hot glue to secure the tree. Where you have trees with a thick trunk try drilling a hole up into the trunk and inserting a dowel which should help
