I went to Nasasau Hobbies yesterday to pick up my MTH UP auxiliary water tender and while looking at Nassau's custom MTH cars, I spotted an MTH tanker commemorating the US Navy's Blue Angels.  In past Memorial Day weekends, the Blue Angels preformed here at Jones Beach.  They always put on a great show and this tanker is perfect for the occasion

May have gone off the deep end.  Picked this stuff up yesterday.  65 or so plastic shoe size boxes of parts and trains needing repairs. 21 Cardboard boxes of trains and parts.  Included mostly Lionel O gauge items and parts but some HO (including Marklin and parts, some Standard Gauge, some #1 Gauge, some O scale (Diecast NW2 engine and cars). There were also two prototype signals.  I think one is from a switch and the other is some sort of Lantern plus a lantern that has been converted to a plug in light.  (The HO layout is from another expedition)

I looked at everything for over an hour trying to determine value but there was no way to calculate so went with gut instinct.  Then spent an hour trying to decide how dead I was going to be bringing all of this home and filling one side of the garage.  My wife's mini-van was packed front to back, including the passenger seat and floor!

I have no idea as to what I'm going to do with all of this stuff but I guess it's good since my wife said she won't kill me because then she would have to get rid of it all.20230521_150631_resized20230521_150636_resized20230521_150647_resized20230521_150655_resized20230521_150708_resized20230521_150714_resized20230521_150728_resized20230521_150742_resized20230521_150753_resized

It's better to be lucky than good all day long!   A friend of mine who does some train collecting called me several months ago and asked me if I was interested in some New York Ontario and Western passenger coaches.  I had no idea what he was talking about but I said yes, absolutely. I was sure no one made anything like that for that railroad so whatever they were, we can work with it.  And part of my layout is New York Ontario and Western. I half expected someone took some old kit cars and painted them or something  along that line. Well, when I looked at them as I took them out of the boxes, I wondered if this was  a fairy tale? Who actually made something like this in NYO&W colors and this nice?. They were all brand new and really nicely detailed These really were a find. ThereOW1nyow2nyow3ow5ow5OW6 is a postal baggage car, three coaches and a parlor car, Check them out. I sent my friend Jeff a note and told him had on coming . They were by MTH.

Gorgeous cars, Bill!  You must be so glad you said yes. Those make a great looking consist and look especially good on your layout.

Thanks for posting.
