Have a question... Got a customer that wants a Sunset AB set (in 2 rail) upgraded to DCS. Was wondering if anyone has done a set, and if so... Did it take a master and slave board set or does it need to full kits.

If both are powered, you'd need a full kit and the slave kit. Two-rail and three-rail are pretty similar installations for DCS, you just have to deal with the track connections and the polarity reversal switch. This would be the same as installing it for three-rail.
Can do it either way. The slave kit winds up a little cheaper. If the trail is dummy you only need a harness to control the coupler and lights. Normally you can get away with a 4 pin PS-1 harness if that is the case.
The real issue is how the trucks are made for installing the harness external connector. Drilling trucks for 2.5 or 3mm screw thread is no fun. The alternative is to mount via shell, but customer needs to be ok with that.
You may also have a long wait for the slave kit. Took several months to get the 2 I have. One ABA and one Turbine. G
If trailer is a dummy, you can also try a miniatronics connector, which is what I used when upgrading an A-A set.
I would be interested in knowing if DCS fits inside, given the single centrally mounted motor. Has anyone done this in any of the new Sunset Diesels with this drive?
A posted picture would help. Most likely would need clearance above the motor. G
Customer has decided to go with two upgrade kits. Will be happy to post some pix once we get started. Now waiting on kits to arrive.
