Yep, Atlas had a special run in this scheme in both 3- and 2-rail

Cars being spotted at the local brewery siding...it's amazing the amount of suds this small operation pumps out...

Mr. McErlean, I love your Old Dutch Cleanser reefer. Lionel made some beautiful freight cars back in the 70's and 80's.

Jim Sutter. Thanks Jim I agree. If I remember correctly I think the Old Dutch livery was also a well known 50’s HO car. Hey Mate!  It’s Don no need for the Mr.

Not a thing of beauty but then lard seldom is. This old car still hauling grease on my layout. Many years ago most people cooked with lard. How things have changed

Here we go with another memory. In the late 40s there was a can on the stove. Any leftover meat fat would be drained into the can. When it was full it would be sealed and shipped with coffee, clothing, etc to relatives in Germany.

Here’s a K-Line reefer with my namesake. I actually have two of these. Originally one was on a siding behind my friend Bob’s butcher shop; but due to urban renewal his shop was moved.

I like local. I have many custom cars this Atlas car is the latest. Turner's Dariy is about a mile from my home. I paint some but l did not do this one.

Lionel - I noticed there are no Lionel markings. Did Lionel stop stamping Lionel on their rolling stock when they went to the 7 digit mpn system? From 6-XXXXX to 192XXXX?

Here is one (or at least its close) from Denmark.  Its a Pioneer Express "Cold Wagon" - rough translation.  Likely from the 1950's.

I’m always amazed at your diverse collection.

@pennsyfan- Thanks for your comment Bob, I appreciate it.  For much of my career with both the Dept of the Air Force then the Dept of the Navy, I traveled much of the free world.  I just made it a habit that wherever I went to come home with "something" to do with trains.  Much of the time this was just a simple toy or a flea market find but it accumulated.  Thus my "hodge podge" collection!!
