Was doing some cleanup on a chassis I've been working on and used Brake Clean as it is cheaper than electronics cleaner. Not a good choice. I had touched up some spots with Testor's oil base enamel , two days old. It was cut like a water clean up brush. Also it soften and removed factory black paint from what were body (not chassis) parts. The chassis paint was not harmed.
Not a final finish and really no harm aside some time and mess.
Don't use Brake Clean if there is any paint around.

Most certainly not! Brake cleaner is a good paint remover, but not a regular cleaner!
Brake cleaner is not usually rated for indoor use either.
Use CRC contact cleaner for that sort of thing; doesn't go after paint.

Years ago, I used Radio Shack TV tuner cleaner.
Please do not use brake cleaner or any other cleaner on electronics that is not approved for this purpose.
If you use brake cleaner for it's intended purpose use it in a well ventilated area and some of it is chlorinated!
Didn't use it on electronics, know better. used on a frame to clean metal shavings. Outside.

My bad, I saw electronics cleaner in your post and somehow assumed you were using it on electronics. I'm having one of those days.
