I got a brand new set of the 6-25713 heavyweight cars today and one diecast truck is broken on three of the cars. I emailed Grzyboski's and since Lionel Parts doesn't have the trucks, I was wanting to return the cars for a refund. But then, looking further, Lionel does have Heavyweight Madison side frames that look like they go on those same trucks. I think I would rather fix the cars if they would give me the parts. I really like the cars except for the broken diecast trucks. These cars are a couple years old but new in the sealed boxes. The diecast does not seem to be faulty like that zinc poisoning issue. What is also weird is that not all the broken off parts from the trucks were in the packaging. And I'm almost positive the boxes have never been opened from new.
This is not the first time a brand new never opened Lionel product has been damaged or missing parts. My new Vision GG1 is missing a hose off the pilot and it was not in the box or the foam. I also got a diesel a couple years ago with the same issue. Lionel says they have a team inspecting every thing before it goes into the box in China. I think not.
