I inherited a TMCC trainmaster command base and Cab-1 remote.  They had sat for years, and I recently got my own layout up and running.  I had to buy another command base to get everything to work with my conventional, TMCC & Legacy trains.  The command base was not responding like the power master does. (The red light never blinked when addressing it).  I had contacted Lionel and they offered a lot of help.  Is there anything inside the command base that can wear out or be repaired?  I am not an electronics guru.  I was just wondering if the non-working command base could be fixed or if it would be worth anything to anyone? (I obviously don't need two of them).  Lionel had mentioned that it would cost more for them to look at it than for me to buy another one.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

I had a Powermaster that when addressed the red light did not blink but the unit itself functioned. Took the shell off and found out that the wire going to the light bulb was disconnected. Seems when the unit was manufactured they used hot melt glue to attach the wire and it was never done properly.

Removed the glue and connected the wire and then the light flickered when the PM was addressed. Not sure if that is your problem but you might check to see if the unit does in fact work but the light just does not indicate that.
