I have only checked off to follow a few posters but I am getting "replies" from many, many posts in my eMail. For example; if I go to an X poster profile, it clearly tells me I'm "not following Mr. X" but I have been receiving every reply in my eMail to Mr X's post. Needless to say I may receive over 100 replies in the course of a day. How can get out of this mode?

When you reply to a post or start your own thread, be sure to UN-check the box which says "Follow This Topic: Notify me about new replies to this topic." I have maintained that this box should be UN-checked by default, but the writers of this software disagree, so it remains checked by default.
For those threads that you are now following but don't want to follow, when you get to the page, look over on the right just below the ads. There will be a link there to stop following a given topic.
