are there modelers out there with full metal equipment rosters with only brass and diecast equipment

and how expensive would that be compared to a roster of plastic bodied equipment

in that regard has mth ever made any metal bodied diesels?

are there other companies that make metal bodied diesels in 3 rail o scale?

i just like metal equipment because it feels heavy like a real train

It would be easy with a roster full of prewar, but I know that is not what you are after.

There were a fair amount of scale "kits" marketed by companies such as Walthers, All Nation, General Models Corporation and several others.  Among these were NW2 switchers and F3 diesels made by All Nation.  They come up for sale on the auction sites fairly often.  That said, they are truly kits in every sense of the word.  There are other options out there as well.

Lionel made some die cast diesels. Ones off the top of my head are the PRR centipedes, the UP veranda gas turbine, FM "H12-44" , and I believe a modern G.E. unit.

Atlas O has a "hybrid" sw8/9 switcher with metal frame and long hood body die cast but the cab is plastic.

Sunset back in the late 1990's did a brass c44-9 diesels

In 1984 Williams imported brass rf-16 shark nose Baldwin diesels albeit on their ugly f7 frames and incorrect EMD truck sides.

Did not know the H12-44 was metal.  Hoping Lionel will do some die cast E-7s or PAs.  Their plastic versions are simply spectacular.

No, I have only metal locomotives, except for three K-Line F-Ms.  Too beautiful and inexpensive to pass up.

I have the only metal MTH Diesels ever - one silicon bronze PA, and a PA/PB in nickel-silver.

MTH's new 44-ton diesel switcher is diecast metal. More coming this year.

MTH, K-Line and Atlas all made a limited selection of diecast metal freight cars. But you might want to break away from your mindset of an all-metal freight car fleet. You won't be able to pull as many of those cars at once.

Lionel, Williams and K-Line have made metal passenger cars at various times and styles.
