Thank you - glad you like it. The glass is 8mm thick and was cut and tempered by a local glass supplier. The brackets were from ebay. This video should give you a better idea....

David, The glass elevated RR is GREAT. VERY NICE JOB ON IT.

I have seen a couple of glass elevated RR's and some of them seem to use an upside down "U" bracket. When in the installed position the "U" seems to have 3 holes drilled in it. One hole is drilled in the center of the UPSIDE down "U"for a rod with threaded ends that sticks down into the top of the "U"WITH A WASHER AND NUT TO ALLOW LEVELING OF THE GLASS AND TRACK. The other end of the threaded rod sticks up into the ceiling and must have some type of support  device up in the ceiling pocket.

 

The lower part of the upside down "U" has a hole on each side of the "U" that a rod with threded ends stick thru that support the glass. It looked like some material was used between the glass and the horz rod to hold down and vibration noise.

 

All of the supports and rods appeared to be Stainless Steel amd ;ppled Marvolus!!!

Our friend Phil is building his big layout and part of it is a passenger train yard suspended from the ceiling in the anti-room area on a large sheet of lexan hanging on rods.

It's called "Heavenly Yard ...".  You can look up at the trains when sitting on the throne ... :-)

Now that is a great idea !!
