Remember our living and deceased veterans during your long weekend and thank them for their service. Attending a local parade is one of the best ways to make them feel appreciated. Hang out that flag too, she's a little rough around the edges, but I bring out my 48-star as often as I can to show my support.
Wish I could be in Washington DC this weekend for the "Ride to the Wall" but I have other work obligations. My brothers in the Patriot Guard Riders will be there in full force as they have been for many years. I did manage to send flowers to Panel 06E, where the soldier on my POW bracelet, John Wayne Lafayette of Waterbury, VT is located on Line 90. Have visited him dozens of times during the annual pilgrimage.
Enjoy our freedoms, given to us by veterans of all conflicts, from all generations, from the Greatest Generation of WWII to today.
