I'm a developer and I do this all the time. I find it is much easier for people to follow things on screen when you group them or "guide their eyes" as I call it. Even if they don't realize it.

I noticed the change and it is a quite a bit easier to read.

Very few changes are made to improve anything. many are made to just show the site is hipper. Web design is pretty much a large group of orangutans flinging pooh at the screen. Text gets smaller and more crowded without any point. I'm nearsighted, many websites are just to hard to read. I do upgrade monitors regularly but most interface designers should be clubbed.

If you are using FireFox as your browser top left go to view then zoom text only, then zoom in, keep zooming in until it gets comfortable for you.

Yeah I need to try that again. The new Yahoo Home page? at anything over 100% the Yahoo Tool bar disappears up under the IE toolbars. brilliantly done!

OTOH this here looks good.

ftauss,

Yahoo is also my Internet Service Provider (ISP) and I use Internet Explorer version 10 (IE) as my default browser.  What I don't do is use the Yahoo modified version of IE.  Instead, I use the basic Microsoft version which allows me to increase viewing size to 125% of normal without covering anything.

If you'd like to try that, download the basic version from Microsoft, install it over the Yahoo version, and then set your Yahoo home page, whatever it is, as the default home page in IE.  You're now ready to browse without the Yahoo "improvements."
