Hey all,
I'm working on an MTH R-2 that I got from the auction. It has almost all of its mechanical guts including the motor, driveline and the encoder, but is missing the PS2 board, smoke unit and most of the lighting harnesses.
If I put a PS3 board from a different steam loco in here, can I still use the leads from the PS2 encoder that's on the motor, or do I need to swap them? They look physically different, but not sure if they're electrically different.
Also, since I'd likely put a PS1 board into the unit that I stole the Ps3 from, can I use the Super-Chuffer that GRJ makes and still use the encoder output from the old PS3 that's mounted?
