Wiring some led fixtures. It has been a while. Is this the proper way to wire these led's? The band on the diode goes towards the load? Also can't remember if the resistor comes first or after the diode? The resistors and diodes came with them. Thanks. Nick

The band goes to the positive side of your LED, the anode. The resistor can be anywhere in the circuit.
I always forget which LED lead is longer...I check every time.
The long lead is positive (anode)
Here's a trick if the leads are already cut, look at the internal elements. The larger one is negative (cathode), the smaller one is positive (anode).

Thanks.... Problem is-the LED is built into a fixture. You can't see it. Both wires are the same length and color and are not marked. If I reverse the polarity initially without knowing, does it blow the LED? Because some don't work no matter what. Nick
No, it wont harm the led. It just wont light till you reverse it.
There is no way to advise you on this LED light fixture without knowing what's inside. Are there multiple LEDs and how are they wired internally? Is it just a string in series or are they wired in parallel? What voltage are you using with this? AC or DC? Are there any other components inside?
