Nice photos, Patrick! The crew of CNJ SW1 #1010 is spotting a DL&W 40' boxcar--loaded with small industrial machinery for a local factory--on the team track. The brakeman is riding high on the ladder in order to set the handbrake after the car is shoved into position. Some members of the engine crew are already enjoying a hot cup of coffee, while others are busy beginning the unloading process...
Patrick I see you're getting the hams ready for the holidays.

Thanks Joe! I love the story you tell with both your narrative and your photos.

Mark - I love the new crane!! Great addition to your team track!! The new crane needs a grand dedication ceremony complete with a brass band and railroad officials speaking to the town folk from the platform.
Just a few years ago my brass quintet, The Monumental Brass, was hired to play for the new crane ( actually 4 cranes ) dedication at the Dundalk Marine Terminal just outside Baltimore. It was quite an event with the governor and senators, corporate execs, etc. and lot of great food!!

Very nice photos Peter!! Yes, I'll bet there was lots of freight transferred in this area over the many decades this facility was in use. You provide a great arial view of the B&O's entire Camden complex ... freight station, Camden passenger station, Railway Express terminal and all the rest too.
I actually got my first cab ride, at 3 year old, at Camden Station. My dad and I were waiting on the platform for a train to New Jersey when the station switcher crew invited me aboard their SW 1. We had plenty of time before out train left, so the switcher crew switched some cars as my dad and I rode along.
The engineer actually let me sit on his lap and operate the throttle ( of course his hand was on the throttle too and he was actually allowing for me to have the illusion that I was operating the locomotive ). That very day it was I who hit the first home run at Camden Yards!!! :-)
