HI guys, i have heard from some of you saying your reluctant to place another order until the generals have arrrived. i understand! first, this is why the club only wants a deposit instead of payment in full. ALSO, with the delay it is not as much of a financial strain on your wallet because you have plenty of time to save for the balance due. Another reason for the delays is me. I WILL NOT EXCEPT CRAP OUT OF CHINA! BY THE WAY the generals are about ready to leave CHINA now. how about the improvements we received for free. thats worth something.

I will be announcing the texas tommy ordering deadline very shortly. We are up to the 40% mark when it comes to production. I'm telling you place your order/ deposit as i only intend to make 10 extra pieces to cover lost and damaged items.

You snooze you lose!

Dave, there were a few things in the locomotive department that were at dealer cost. Now after being a dealer for 28 years there is not a lot of margin. many items had no boxes or had been repaired and they come with no warranty because they are rebuilt. now this is not true on the first quality items.

there were cars from cheap starter sets with no boxes that were a buy but no scale items.

Most of the accessories could have been bought at train shows for less money. i think it was the perception of additional value when they saw some of the less expensive door buster locomotive PRICES

best wishes

There were a few scale pieces of rolling stock there (top shelf on the right as you looked to the wall where they had the engines).  There were a couple PS-1 boxcars, some cylindrical hoppers, a few scale Polar Express cars and a few other pieces (I bought a scale caboose).

I can hardly wait for the General/Texas set, but I will happily wait because I know the LCCA wants to do things right.

Hey guys, I was over at Lou's house and he showed me a pre-production model of the Texas Tommy and the free Diamond car. I'm sorry but though Lou is an old friend he said that he would have to shoot me if I posted any pictures. He is still playing ping pong with the manufacturer.

But, as a lover of the North East Flags I have to tell you anyone who fails to place an order for this set is going to regret it later when the deadline hits.

The detail is really spot on and the diamonds in the mint car look as if they could be used in jewelry.  I know many budgets are tight right now but if you can at all afford it I would buy this set.

I think Lou outdid himself on this one, IMHO it is even better looking then the Generals and that is saying something.

Mario, I'm with you on this one.  I've always been partial to Pennsylvania-related and Mid-Atlantic roadnames, but then I -- like many folks -- discovered the eye-popping colorful paint schemes that are so characteristic of western roadnames in the Pacific Northwest routes... and then of course, those from the Southwestern US as well.

I will definitely be ordering the LCCA Texas Special and follow-on cars -- even if I need to re-work a TMCC upgrade to the locomotive, since I have no plans to run conventional control on my layout.  (That was the one short-coming of the item as offered.  But I think it's a manageable situation for an otherwise STUNNING product.)

hi guy's people have asked why do we produce the locomotives both ways. With and without electronics. that has always been my hope but not enough people step up to the plate so we can reach the numbers.

we have 8000 members and if we sell 1500 od something that is a big number. it has NOTHING to do with the economy because its been this way for the 30 years i have been in the club.even when we had more members the numbers were low.

i dont have an answer but i will never stop.

thanks you guys

louie
