It would appear that the Legacy L1 Mikados are in. According to the Lionel store, it no longer lists an estimated ship date. I guess stores should be seeing them in the next few weeks.

I wonder what shades of red these will have on the roof and tender.
Will the smoke box be graphite or silver? Fingers crossed, I have one of these on order.
Great - I'm excited - I've got 1369 on order - and yes fingers crossed
I ordered the Cumberland Valley set with the Legacy L1. Wonder if they're not far behind.
1369 is the one I picked out as well. I do hope there are no issues whatsoever.

According to Lionel Store's web site, the set is scheduled for release in Sept.
Thx Joe!
What about the L1 with the Trainphone Antenna ? Is this one also in this delivery batch?

Yes that's arrived also
Looks like the first YouTube video of one posted just fyi. Looks like the smoke box color is a darker grey, but the version unboxed didn’t have a red cab roof. Time will tell with how they all come out. Hopefully the set gets moved up release wise.
How about a video link? A search using Lionel legacy L1 turns up nothing.
Found it, I'm suprised Lionel kept the tender truck chains from the MTH tooling. Thats a plus.
The green looks a bit light like the h10 from a few years ago.

Lionel, according to their Facebook page, is shut down until July 10. I'm sure that will effect shipping to the distributors. I have onw on order as well and looking forward to it!

#1343 was pictured in the catalog with the later DGLE roof scheme and set back headlight.
Rick looks nice. Thanks for the link.

Really curious how they did the gear box on these MTH rebuilds, …..did they leave the MTH gear box alone? Or did they make them back drive? ….to be sure the Cannon motor is present, …..If someone has their’s …..is it back driveable? Or locked gears? …IMO, many of the Big L’s gear boxes leave a lot to be desired, where as MTH’s Premier steam gear boxes are built like battle tanks …….

Fwiw, I believe I can see the bushing with the secondary gearshift behind the drivers.
I'm guessing this gearbox will be similar to past mikados.

The MTH Mikes had a compound gear box too……but the MTH compound gear box is bulletproof compared to our friends with the orange boxes,……the big question is it backdrivable …..
Pat.

I should have one on the way from Ro when they get back from vacation next week.
If no one has an answer by then. I'll try and shove mine down the track without power and see.
I think ",most " of Lionels newer steamers are back drivable. One exception may be that 0-6-0 with the octopus tether. I'll have to double check that one, but it's geared strictly for switching.
