I ordered the CP GP-38, as well as a couple of the ones that were back in the catalog from last fall. These are my first LC+ engines, and I plan to use them as dedicated switchers in my yards. The layout is still primarily TMCC, but with all of my signal issues, these might actually help me to debug certain aspects of the track. The first two could show up in March. I'm anxious to try them out.

I've got a can Hudson and a np gp7 and love them , waiting for more lionchief plus steam birkshires etc , from this years releases I'm thinking ft aa Santa Fe and a nw2 haven't decided on road name yet , anyone have the lionchief plus ft? I can't find hardly any information or pictures on them ...

Heres my locos sorry for the bad camera quality

Thanks for the pics Matt! They look amazing! It's awesome to see them in the road name I want! I've seen train room Gary's video on his rio grande lionchief + ft s and I think I'm going to have to cave in I'm a Hugh fan of lionchief plus (it's all I want to run) and these are as close to postwar f3's as lc+ has to offer! As I'm a big fan of postwar inspired trains but I love the modern command control aspects of lc +

Great stuff, everyone. Hope to get some pics up later. I've got 2 LC+ steamers and 2 of the NW-2s.

Has anyone picked one of the E-33 Electric Rectifiers that were recently released? Thinking about the Virginian.

I have the New Haven...love it so far.  I was considering the B & O NW-2 but will wait for the fall catalog first to see what else is coming in.  i also like postwar inspired but prefer the northeast roads.

Thanks, Bostonpete. I think I may keep watching prices on the Rectifiers, especially since I may want to pull the trigger on some of the new 2016 LC+ offerings.

Btw, a quick plug for forum sponsor, Mario’s Trains. He’s got some pretty good prices on the LC+ Rectifiers. Maybe the best pricing I’ve seen ($250 –to $270 range).

As the proud owner of four LC+ engines, I'm waiting for something else.  I just recently bought a N&W Rectifier and now I will wait to see what is in the fall catalog.

Hi - What are you looking for in the fall Catalog. I would like to see an Amtrak F40PH, as a LionChief Plus. I do have a K-Line Amtrak F40PH, with TMCC / Cab #1. There is one in this catalog on page 20 , Legacy Diesel.

I have the B&O Pacific, the DL&W Camelback, have the DL&W Hudson on order. Saw the NW-2 at trainstock 8 in action and was impressed by it.  Might look at the FT if they do a AB DL&W set, lackawanna only ordered them in AB set with a drawbar between them.

Those NW-2s are really sweet. I have the B&O version and like them so much I am considering picking up another (maybe the CB&Q?).

Virginian Rectifier has just arrived,  and is just like the first three LC+ I bought: great performance, sound, appearance and value.

Would like to see a gang car, trolley,  subway and track cleaner in LC+.  Small diesel and steam switchers would be nice too.

+1 on the Subway. An MTA train, #1 or A train would be great.

I'd love to see video of your rectifier in action!

I'm going to wait until York in October. I'm not happy with Lionel prices. I don't think I'll ever buy anything new from them. I really want the LC+ BNSF GP20 possibly a GP38, the Chessie Mikado and eventually the FT AA, But not at the current prices. I'm sure I'll find a good deal just like I did with my GP7.

I have lots of LC+ in stock.

If you go to my website, take a look at one you like, when you go to the address bar on your browser a box pops up and you can make an offer for it. If I can sell it to you at your price, I will.

There's not tons of margin in these. Lionel raised the wholesale price without raising the retail price starting with the NW2s, but we try to help with the price.

Maybe two of the GP38s.   I will run them as a consist, either two on point, one on point with a rear pusher, or one as midtrain power.   Totally fun!   Looking for the best deal on a preorder.

Hi Ken - Looking for great deal on Lionel Pre-orders - Just look up at the OGR Forum Ad Banner all the venders that sell Lionel, have their pre-order programs up and running. Has anyone heard if Lionel plans to offer the electronics as separate sale? Just had the thought that they might not be bad for those of us with old DC engines.

haven't heard it, and sort of doubt it will happen.  I agree with Landsteiner that the radio in use in LC/+ is superior to the systems used by the two big systems in 3 rail.  That said, I'm unsure what the marketability is for the boards that are in production as they depend on tow things many older engines may not have, and may not be able to be retrofitted with.  for LC functionality you need motors that don't draw a ton of current, and for LC+ the motors need an optical encoder to detect motor speed.  Now this isn't to say that the same functionality couldn't be easily duplicated, just that the current design would probably be more hassle than it is worth to turn into an upgrade product.  Add to that that I expect Big L figures they already have remote upgrades covered with ERR products, which, as far as I can tell, are some good products.

Now, MRC offers a simple remote system based on the same underlying tech as LC/+ that looks fair from what I've seen.  Also there is the BlueRail option using bluetooth to run trains from a smart device which also looks like it's shaping up pretty well.  Both of these, however, are only good for very low current motors, looking to be geared to HO at the moment.  I expect one could pretty easily kludge together a high current driver for either of these... but if you're going that far you could probably also build your own wireless link and eliminate the middle man.

It is worth noting that BlueTooth, and Wifi are both the same underlying radio tech as LC/+, just with much better software telling the radios what to do.

Getting really far off topic, I'm kicking around building boards that would be a drop in replacement for a TMCC R2LC that would use the 2.4GHz radios of the sort used in LC/+, eliminating the signal issues that TMCC/Legacy faces.  One could also build single engine remotes to run these engines if they wanted to, though I'm unsure if that is something people want or not.   With this sort of R2LC replacement board one could use ERR boards as well to convert anything to an LC+ style control.   This project is on the back burner right now, But when I have something to show, it will be on the forum.

JGL

If I were ordering, it would be the A5....because it's beautiful and near scale.  The "if" is because I already have the K Line version.  I have a LC+ camel back and love it.  I know it's a business decision, but I wish Lionel would offer an other near scale LC+ steamer or upgrade the detail of the traditional sized stuff. Kind of like MTH's "Imperial" line.

Now I could see a LC remote control transformer.  A lower cost version than the original Cab-1/PowerMaster combo.  Or a LC clicker and a "ChiefMaster" controller?

I'm about three hours north of you straight up US-31. I would like to come down and see your store some sunny day and bring some club members with me.
