Hi all with this loco I can get it to sound the bell and horn but no other sounds. When I press 1 through 9 on the CAB-1L nothing happens in command mode. It does run forward and back and as I said bell and horn work. Is this a programming problem? If so can someone give me step by step to reprogram this loco back to the defaults? thanks

Frank, that model only has a horn and bell, no other sounds. It was part of this set.

There was a separate sale unit that had larger motors, full Railsounds, and cruise control, a much more desirable model.
Ah OK thanks. Solces that mystery.
OK, stupid question here. If I get one with full rail sounds and program both with the same ID number can I essentially have a lashup?

Probably not. The separate sale model has larger motors and the ERR Cruise Commander. The set model has the small flat-sided set motors and the ERR Mini-Commander II. The response curves are bound to be much different. Note that I haven't tried it, but I am about 95% sure it would be a problem.

My problem with doing that is the #656 has the small and fragile set motors, and putting too much of a load on those will cook them. Given that fact, if the #656 is trying to go faster than the #664, that could be a problem. It's not that they won't run, it's how long they'll run.
