I noticed today while operating my Lionel GE Evolution Hybrid for about 30 minutes that it got rather warm around the dynamic brake vents area. Is this normal? I would assume it is, since it's operating on second generation Legacy and has the audio amplifier board in that location (which I assume will get warm, since it's got a regulator on the one side where I was feeling the heat through the shell). I haven't owned any Legacy engines with these kind of Legacy electronics, so I don't know for certain whether this is normal.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but thanks to anyone who can offer clarity.

The ambient temperature was also rather high in my room that day, around 80 F.  I also use the volume pot to adjust the volume to around 50% - 75% volume at home. While I had the shell off, I also checked the audio power board and the DCDS-J heat sinks. The inductor was a bit warm, and so were some the through hole capacitors, for the audio power board. The DCDS-J was barely warm.

In any case, I'll be keeping an eye on it. Thankfully the sound board is still available for purchase, might purchase a spare one once Lionel opens up again. I'd rather it be the sound board that goes, rather than the DCDS-J. Since it doesn't look fun to replace.
