I have a Lionel GP-9 Legacy Diesel L&N # 525. It has operated very reliably up until last night. It now seems to be shorting out and tripping the circuit breaker whenever it tries to go across a Lionel 072 switch. I have several of those on my layout. The trucks seem to move laterally whenever this engine runs across one of those switches. I wondered if the middle contact rollers were touching the running rails just enough to cause a short and trip. I did notice that two of the traction tires needed replacing. Could that be where my excess motion is coming from? The middle rollers do have some yellowing on them and a little bit of pitting too. I tried spraying the rollers with contact cleaner and wiping them off but that did not help. This engine has run many hours w/o problems and was one of the most reliable runners I had. I tried a different Legacy GP-9 over the same territory and it had no problems.

Thanks,
