Thought that I would show the repainting job did on my Lionel GP38 by Jimbo at Ready to Roll Trains in Miami.

The PRR Locomotive #2382 was originally part of a Lionel RTR LionChief set and I had it repainted from the PRR Brunswick Green to be a Florida East Coast #507 to go more in line with my choice of railroads.  Very beautiful job indeed .  I'll probably have another LionChief one done later (either in FEC or CSX colors) as a "lash up" of the railroads here in South Florida.

Enjoy the before and after photos of the loco on the tracks at the O gauge layout in the Ready to Roll store.

Since there is a new LionChief CSX GP38-2 diesel coming out soon, which paint scheme would be applied to a CSX repainted model?

Andrew

Interesting, I wasn't aware that there was a CSX GP38-2 coming out.  If I were to do the CSX it sould be the Blue/Gray/Yellow livery. The CSX is my second option though, as I would prefer to have both locos be FEC, but they're aren't any Blue Scheme FEC O decals available at this time anywhere.  I got the last as of the bunch at Ready to Roll so I might have to wait awhile.  Also, as I had mentioned in another thread last month, my intention is to have both locos read from the same LionChief remote control signal to keep it simple.

Kevin, swell paint job. Very nice. Don

Thanks for praises on the re-paint and the link to the new Lionel.  The layout's not mine though, its the O Scale one at the LHS (Ready to Roll).  The first Saturday of each month, they let folks run their trains on it.  I will have to take advantage of that one time with both my FEC Rock Train and my Amtrak Genesis.

So, they should be doing it this coming weekend? I live in the area, but do not get down to Miami too often. It may be worth a visit.

Nice paint job. I talked with Jimbo at the FCMTS train meet on the first. Nice guy.

Yes, the first Saturday of the month is "run day" at Ready-to-Roll, but during the height of the holiday season, the store can be pretty busy, especially on a Saturday. The first Saturday in November will probably be fine, but on the first Saturday's  of December and January, it probably will be too crowded to do much train running (and that's a good thing!). Still, it's always a good place to visit, no matter what the day!

Very cool! I have the PRR and I've been thinking of doing something similar to yours. Getting another and repainting it Conrail. Sounds like that's very possible.

I also have the CSX who's colors I like so I may pick up another and do Conrail there or I might pick up a Southern Pacific and repaint that. To maintain separate control. Or both!!
