A friend of mine has a Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer 4-4-2 starter set under her tree, and it does not have forward anymore. It will do reverse-neutral-neutral-neutral. Any ideas for me to fix it? Would changing the wires out the back of the cw fix it to run it forward only? (it's not the cw, as it ran my 2025 fine)  Or does it have to be sent out?  Thanks!

Based on your description: Reversing the CW wires will not change the direction unless it happens to trigger the problem with what sounds like an e-unit issue.  The CW outputs AC voltage and the e-unit converts that AC voltage to DC for the can motor in the 4-4-2. If you are handy with disassembling and soldering, you could reverse the wires on the DC motor coming from the e-unit.  Again, this could also trigger what is causing the issue with the e-unit. Unless you are handy with repairs or you know someone who is, you should send the engine out for repair.  Either a wire is loose or the e-unit is damaged and needs to be replaced.  Rarely can the e-unit be repaired.
