Hi Guys,

I have a Lionel 6-82141 Legacy Hi-Nose GP30 that needs a repair.  It was purchased around 11 months ago but I cannot find the reciept.

When I called Lionel for service, they told me that without the reciept it would be a non-warranty repair and they are not taking in any non-warranty items at this time.

In the past I sent my repairs to lionel because I could not get decent service performed when I used an authorized local service center. By that I mean they would correct the issue I sent it in for, but then other things would not function properly, (lights, couplers and loose parts).  That was the case more than a few times, so I tried going directly to Lionel for service and to date I have no complaints.

Can any of you recommend a good lionel service center or repair person?  I live in NJ but have no problem shipping out.

Thanks,

Angelo

Give this a look and you may get lucky.  Look at the top of each truck and make sure the roller and ground wire ends that attach to the truck are not touching.  Common issue.  If you are good on both trucks, remove the wires from one truck at a time and apply power to the other truck.  If you still show short, reverse what I stated and start with the other truck.   Your issue may just be a shorted wire inside the truck from rubbing against ground.  I get to see this often.   Just a process of elimination.  Takes just a few minutes.   You can also remove wires from both trucks and hit the hot and ground on any end with transformer power and you should be able to start.  If you get it out of short mode, attach one  truck and retest.  This way you can back door where your short is.

If you need it to go someplace, Alex can get you running.
