One of my favorite aspects of train collecting is finding misused, beat up items ready  for the scrap heap and to give them another chance at life.  Right now I am working on a NYC 153 shell and frame that was bent, rusted and had a "zillion" coats of paint globbed on it.

I am at the point now I need a motor for it.  It uses a type II humped back motor with a reversing drum.  Actually I have an original drum so if it were missing, no problem.  If anyone has one to sell or knows of one, please let me know.  Also, I could use a used set of rubber stamps for it.

I am attaching work in process pictures.  I haven't started on the rails or bell yet so you can see what a mess it was.

Thanks much and have a super Labor Day Holiday,

Jim Lawson

Go to the TCA book or LCCA and look up Marty Visnick in Canton, MA.  He has boxes of those parts.  Tell him I told you to contact him.  He is always in the red hall at York.

I understand what you are trying to do.  Back in my early York days I was looking for a motor for my 752 that I was restoring.  When the purple hall was opened with the chicken coops in half the hall, I found a new motor in the wrapper motor for $35.00.  That was a lot of money and I still have it and run it to this day.
