Has anyone developed a tool for connecting MTH steam engine drawbars without putting the locomotive on its side, I have very large hands and that is the only way I can do it.

I have much smaller hands and that's the way I do it as well. I put a rag down and lay the locomotive and tender on it next to the tracks. Connect the drawbar and flop the whole mess up on the track.
It's the way I have done it for years, it's the only way for me to get the drawbar on the engine and tender connected. It works.

Unless you have a steam engine like one of mine! I have to lift the front of the engine up so that the draw bar points downward and then it gets inserted into the slot in the tender. I also have the kind described above and I too have to lay it on its side.
Both are ugly!

Walt, Lionel's truly wireless drawbars are easy to connect, we're talking about the "wireless" MTH drawbar.
I just connect them on the track, right side up. I place the Tender and the Engine on the track. Lift up the tender and hook it in to the part on the Engine.

so was I. I have the Lionel by MTH PS3 engines so they are all MTH electronics, including the drawbar
John some of the small O TP use a horizontal connector at the end (not Vertical). With a pin in the tender swivel. They are a PITA. G
George, they're all a PITA.
