This is one cool train. The front truck of the engine and the last truck of the observation car are powered.

Cars have a 'pin/stud' on one end...
other end has a hole and connector to attach to the next car.

Runs great. The engine needs a light replacement. The front of the engine wobbles due to bad traction tires; see later picture for details.
Rest of cars lighted.
Traction tires are deformed with a bump on them.
Fortunately, spare traction tires are in the box.
Wider diaphragms can be put on the cars if you use wider radius track.
Many moons ago, I had to replace a defective set of wires but left the old ones in the box.

I bought this at a train show many moons ago. I am not a collector but buy what I like and run it. My knowledge of if this is the original tender for the engine is beyond my knowledge but I have included lots of pictures for you to decide as I know engines and tenders can get mixed up over 80 years! All I know is it said 'Pennsylvania' on the tender instead of 'Lionel lines' which made it more scale for me.

Tender bottom. Nice that it has a water scoop as on the prototype.
All works great.
A real 'smoker'. No box for the engine or tender. Will use bubble wrap.

These cars were, originally, NYC. At the time I couldn't find any NP diesels so I painted them with my airbrush and decaled them
tested.

I put a toggle on the B unit to turn off the sound: no longer needed as there is no sound and I didn't check to see if a wire was broken. Since they are Williams, it was their 'tru-blast'

Decals didn't quite cover some raised areas. Not sure why I didn't paint that area white?
Cleaning up the engines I hosed up one of the decals along all those recesses. Mostly, not noticeable when viewed from a normal distance. Like most things, people don't see things unless we point them out!
