Need Help - Lionel 455 Oil Bubbler Tube

The bubble tube is the exact same bubble tube used in bubble lights for your Christmas tree...hobby lobby, some Walmart’s and other place s that sell Christmas ornaments sometimes keep bubblelights in stock....carefully harvest the glass tube out of the lamp socket, and you’ll see its the exact same size and shape as your 455 Derrick...........Pat

The yellow tube is an OE lionel bubble tube, from a 455. The blue tube is one I harvested from a dead bubble light from my Christmas tree......Pat

Be careful harvesting them....I take a pair of sharp nippers and work my way up from the bottom, being careful not to nip the bulb or the tube.....wear safety glasses and gloves....there, I did my part for the safety committee today..........Pat

Thanks for all the help guys! I got my hands on a bubbler ornament today and was able carefully excise the amber bubbler tube. This was then transplanted in to my Oil Derrick.  The patient recovered well from the procedure and is bubbling happily a gain.

Great!....get a few different colored ones, change them up from time to time.....the green ones look really cool ...........Pat
