I was wondering if it's me or my new Router. It seems Spectrum cable feels the the WPS button is not necessary anymore and had it disabled. I was able to connect my DCS module thru the MTH WIFI but it won't connect my Lionel module to my Cab 2 when I try to connect to the access point. With my old Router I was using my home network but unless Spectrum activates the button that's not going to work. Anyone who can tell me what to do I will appreciate it.

Hi Danr, Unfortunately it won’t work since Spectrum Cable has the WPS button disabled on the router. I have a feeling the access point wasn’t working when the module was new and I added it to my home network when it was new 3 year’s ago. It will probably cost as much to have it checked out and repaired as a new one. Thank you for replying. Gene
Many routers will allow one to directly login as an administrator either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable connected to your computer and change settings via software to allow WPS. To learn how to log on as an admin., do an internet search for directions to your specific router's model number via Spectrum.
Got it. Apparently most newer equipment has eliminated WPS because it allows you to enter a Wi-Fi network without a password. You are going to need a pc and the Wi-Fi user manual. Page 6-7 detail how to connect without WPS. There are a number of hoops to jump through. I never saw any need to connected my MTH or Lionel Wi-Fi to my home Wi-Fi. But that’s just me.

I 2nd SteveH’s suggestion - login as the admin and see if you can change the settings. Take pics or screen prints in case you need to revert back to previous settings. I’ve logged into the Spectrum admin to disable their WiFi as I prefer to use my own router. Love the Orbi mesh network.
Is the Lionel module you’re referring to LCS? If so, why do you prefer the home network setting over direct acccess?
You can use the LCS WiFi Utility to get the LCS module to connect. @Dennis-LaRock found the missing files.
I know some of the Verizon routers had a WPS capability in the admin menus of the router, perhaps your router has hid the WPS there?

Hi John, Spectrum sent all new routers and modems to this area in December and I didn't get a chance to my Wifi to the layout until last week. I spoke to Spectrum tech support yesterday and was told that the WPS button was no activated and at this time can not be activated. I got into the MTH WiFi right away but I finally tried to connect the Lionel and it wouldn't show there WiFi in my prone when I tried connecting with base. This morning I tried No Base and hallelujah it connected and I slid the switch over to With Base asd and it works perfect now.
I want to thank everyone for your help and I finally did get it going.
All's well that ends well. I suspect the removal of WPS is because of security issues.
