I always liked these 2 cars but I thought the Lionel Logo just did not look nice so I thought I can make the cars look better so this is what I did.

Top of the Line, love it.

DOC, nice but you need not apologize (as suggested by your title) that the cars aren't scale. This is the Hi-Rail, 027 and Traditional 3-Rail O Gauge Forum... where else would you post this?
So I'm curious... did you have color decals made for you, or use stickers of some kind? I ask because decals might not cover the previous Lionel logos as well as your photos appear. And if they were stickers, and not pre-cut round ones, you did an excellent job getting the round cut so well.
very nicely done!
First class job.

My question is the same as Brian's - what is it exactly that you did and how?
What you did looks great and I have some cars I'd like to do something similar with.
I said not scale because most of my 3 rail trains are scale in size.
So what was doe is they are made on shipping label paper self stick so if I wanted they could be removed. Cover up type you can't see through it.
Also I let my wife know what I want to do and she makes it work. Hope that amswer the questions.
Great , would be nice to have one.

Very Cool!
Fine Job!!!

DOC,
Is the second car the Snap On Tool car? If it is, you did a great job covering up the Snap On logo. If it is not the Snap On car, which one is it? Thanks.
UPDATE: Found it. Item 6-26777. Neat but expensive on daBay.
No its not the Snap On car the car # is 26777'

That is the hard to find car that was announced just prior to 9/11 and available only through Lionel - not dealers. This car commanded quite a premium on the secondary market although it has come down since its peak.
Thanks for sharing.
