Not running MTH's DCS?
Maybe now is the time to try it!

MTH's DCS Explorer is here

With MTH's DCS Explorer, you can run your MTH PS2.0 and PS3.0 trains from your smart phone or tablet using the free DCS app.

Click the link below and open the "video" tab to see just how easy it is to load the app, connect to the Explorer and run any 2.0 or 3.0 equipped trains. MTH did a terrific job with this video

Working with MrMuffin'sTrains there are FOUR ways you can add DCS to your layout:

  1. Buy the DCS system - a TIU and a DCS remote in the box ready to go. MTH 50-1001 - DCS Remote Control Set - sale priced at $314.96. Buy it  here
  2. Buy the Muffin's DCS WiFi Starter Kit - it comes with a Track Interface Unit (50-1003); the WiFi Unit (50-1034) and a copy of Dr Barry's WiFi Book - sale priced at $329.96. Buy it here
  3. Buy a DCS Explorer - just released for individual sale and on sale at MrMuffin'sTrains for $119.96. Buy it here
  4. Buy one of the following MTH R-T-R Starter Sets. Each includes the DCS Explorer, plus a power pack, track and a train. I have marked these down $100 each - to $349.96. Given the DCS Explorer is worth $120, and there's a power pack too, you're getting a RailKing Dash-8 with caboose and two freight cars for $229! NOW THAT's A DEAL!
  • MTH 30-4239-1 - Dash-8 Diesel R-T-R Freight Train Set "Norfolk Southern - First Responders" w/ PS3 and DCS Explorer
  • MTH 30-4240-1 - Dash-8 Diesel R-T-R Freight Train Set "Norfolk Southern - Veterans" w/ PS3 and DCS Explorer
  • MTH 30-4241-1 - Dash-8 Diesel R-T-R Freight Train Set "Union Pacific" w/ PS3 and DCS Explorer

Okay - these R-T-R Sets, too, with the DCS Explorer included - $100 off:

  • MTH 30-4244-1 - 2-8-0 Steam Freight R-T-R Train Set "Pennsylvania" w/ PS3
  • MTH 30-4245-1 - 2-8-0 Steam Freight R-T-R Train Set "Southern Pacific" w/ PS3
  • MTH 30-4246-1 - F40PH Diesel R-T-R Passenger Train Set "Amtrak" w/ PS3

What is the difference between MTH 50-1035 DCS WiFi and 50-1034?  One appears to be silver color and the other is back. Also 50-1035 seems to be the separate sale unit while 50-1034 is sold with a TIU.

Also, can I use my existing TIU (older) or do I need to buy a newer unit? What DCS version is required?

Thanks,

Rick

The 1035 is for beginners with started sets.

You can use the older TIU with the 50-1034 but will have to buy a Sabrent USB 2.0 to Serial (9-Pin) DB-9 RS-232 Sabrent USB 2.0 to Serial (9-Pin) DB-9 RS-232 Converter Cable adapter available in ebay, Best Buy etc for less than $10.00.

Yup - what Gene said.... we need to get your TIU to at least release 6.0..... if you want, send us the TIU and remote and we will upgrade them, add the cable mentioned above and toss in the 50-1034 all for the price of the 50-1034 plus it's shipping and $10 for the cable.... we turnaround the upgrades the same day they get here..... Happy to help.....
