And when was the 611 built ?

May 1950.

What does the build date of N&W 611 have to do with anything related to those beautiful cars?

Not that the cars aren't beautiful, or that any photos have yet been posted featuring both the J and the Model A, or that 1920s vehicles didn't exist when the J was built in 1950--but the posing of 1920s vehicles with the 1950 J is just a bit incongruous.

A better photo pairing would be the J with a late 1940s/early 1950s vehicle.

Perhaps this is a better match. This one would have already been  10 years old when the J was built. It would have looked the same in 1950, since in 2019 it still has the original paint and upholstery.

Still searching for a good scale model of the 40 Mercury in black for my layout.  I found a good match for the 29 Ford.

The Illinois Railway Museum hosts a day every year where vintage car owners can display their cars around the museum: https://www.irm.org/event/vint...za/edate/2019-08-04/

I haven't taken my old Thunderbird there yet. The day always coincides with the weekend of Lollapalooza, which I've been going to for the past 11 years. So if IRM moves the date I might attend.
