This year, I have been thinking a lot about past Christmas's. Like the year I made the large circle of track through the upstairs of my parents house. Putting a circle of track in my great uncles hardware store window. Not doing so well in grade school during December and my teacher asking me if I was thinking about my trains. Receiving a phone call from a lady telling me her son wouldn't go to bed unless he could watch my trains one more time. Thanks mom and dad.

Trains made Christmas even more special as a kid. I remember one Christmas morning in particular very vividly. I woke up before anyone else did, snuck downstairs to the living room very quietly to see if Santa had visited, and saw a pair of brand-new Lionel Illinois Central GP9s on the track under the Christmas tree. There was obviously no going back to sleep at that point, but I went back up to my room and waited for everyone else to wake up. The hardest part was acting surprised after already seeing them, but it worked. The best part about it was my parents were camped-out on the sofa-bed that was right next to the Christmas tree, and they never heard me sneak into the living room.
