I may be interested in one. How much will they run for? And, would anyone happen to be making a special run of Rutland RS-1s?

  Between Lionel’s offerings of a recent 10 Wheeler and Mogul. MTH produced a Mikado very early on and Atlas an RS1. Surely there’s enough out there already that could use a proper caboose.

I plan to buy a Rutland RS1 when it is offered by Public Delivery Track, so I will buy one Rutland #28 wood caboose. New England cabooses are a good way to induce me to spend money...

I’m in, I have two engines re-lettered to Rutland

We have already committed to building MTH Premier 35' Woodsided Caboose in New York Central and Boston & Albany railroads.   IF we can get firm commitments for 70 Rutland "Route Of The Whippet" 35' Woodsided Cabooses (35 of each road number) we will do a custom run of them.  The model caboose would be similar to the one pictured here:

The only way this will get made is if we get enough interest to make the run worth the investment.  This will look great on your northeastern USA railroad!  If we can reach 70 firm commitments before the deadline (T.B.A.) we will make them available.  Post here on this thread your comments.  Thank you!

As others have stated with all the B&A and Rutland engine produced over the years, why Lionel or Atlas, and even MTH hasn’t done this sooner is perplexing.  But MTH with the help JR junction is now rectifying this omission.  Thank you very much

Sorry I forgot to ask.  I will post the price as soon as I have it.  I expect it to be somewhere between $70-$90 but figuring in the tooling upgrades, it may be more.  An added bonus...we usually offer a discount when purchasing two (both) road numbers of our custom-run offerings.

Forgot about that one. There’s 5 models out there now that need one. Maybe 6 as Weaver might have done an RS3. Atlas did make a Rutland steel caboose years ago. Believe there  were 2 built in 1960,
