Are all proto 2 upgrade kits 3 volt? Even the first ones out from MTH?. I remember kits were not available at the same time the first proto 2 engines were released. I was thinking that MTH had made the switch to 3 volt boards before the upgrade kits were available for sale. Been a long time ago so please correct me on this.

I've never seen or heard of a 5V upgrade kit, so I believe they were indeed all 3V boards. Of course now, they are PS32 boards for steam and a pure diesel PS/3 board in the diesel upgrades.
