A question for all you MTH guys with multiple Proto 2 freight Diesel locos.

Do all the FYS systems use the same dialog with the EMD 567 locomotives?

I had a CNJ GP7, and currently have a B&O SD9, which have exactly the

same sound sets.  Just wondering if there are different sets with different

chatter that could be loaded into the SD9?   If the unit was Espee instead

of B&O, the chatter would be appropriate....but not otherwise. Thanks!

You may have to try finding a set from a different year or different production run. I'm sure there's a finite number of sets that they have, but there should be some different ones. I have an early PS2 Dash 9 that had a really dumb FYS sequence, and I found another sound set from a later release of Dash 9s (and different road name) that was different.

You'll probably will have to load in a few sound files to see if you get anything different, although its possible you could get some accents or dialects that don't match (sometimes they load soundsets with a little southern drawl... might not work so great in a Northern Pacific loco).

Can't speak about Diesels, but I have 2 Imperial Railking Big Boys that have very different sound sets as far as the crew dialog. They come from runs a few years apart.

One is a flag stop for debris on the track, the other is a switching event dropping off 6 cars. I like the switching event better.

(Edited to add details of crew talk)

Hopefully none are inane as the one in my RK Allegheny.  Two dull-witted, teleprompter inspired morons struggle to to take on water without getting their feet wet (apparently the last time one of them poured water all over themselves...).  At this point when I hear it I keep hoping they'll both drown.

Need to check on a different run...
