Hello, grandchild put whole dropper of mega-steam fluid in the MTH Climax PS3.  Being helpful.

Smoke unit barely puffs at all.  Is there a remedy for this? Smoke oil doesn't seem to drain out if I turn the loco over.  Tried blowing down the stack in case of air bubble.  Troubleshooting guide doesn't offer any further advice.

I accidentally did the same thing once. I eventually solved the problem by taking the smoke unit apart and moving the batting. It turned out that the part between the heating elements had burned up and was preventing smoke from being produced, so I put a different section of it between the heating elements. I'm not sure if that was actually caused by the smoke unit being overfilled, but it might be good to try if you're unable to drain the smoke fluid or get it burning.

I have pipetts  i use for smoke fluid filling, which can also used for sucking fluid out.  I would discourage taking it apart unless you have spare gasket that goes between the reservoir casting and the pc board.  When pulling these apart, often times the gasket gets broken.  If there is not a good seal, smoke leaks out and soon your engine has smoke being sent out inside the engine.

If you turn the engine upside down and the smoke fluid doesn't run out, it's not overfilled.  If it's not smoking properly, it actually might not have enough smoke fluid.  I never counted how many drops are in a dropper of Mega-Steam smoke fluid, but I recently put 85 drops in my Lionel SOO Line SD90 and it out smokes the best of MTH.  If you watch down the stack how the drops are being absorbed by the wick, you will know when you are reaching the maximum that can go in.  That is, if you can see the wick or heating element depending on what type of stack is on the engine.
