"Restoring" a NYC "Pacemaker" Heavyweight Passenger car

I recently purchased a K-Line K-0609 NYC "Pacemaker" Heavyweight passenger car to be included in my O scale "railroad museum". This K-line model is 18 inches long and is from their "Heavyweights" line.

I have begun to "restore" this car by removing the window silhouettes and replacing them with clear window material.  I also removed the 4 incandescent bulbs which were used for interior lighting.   With the interior area cleared out I will add some interior details to simulate seating. I will also add overhead LED lighting.

When completed this car will be used for "fan" trips when not on display at the railroad museum.  The car is otherwise in mint (restored) condition.

I have a complete set of those cars in AT&SF. I had to do a restoration on mine too.....they were part of the run with the bad trucks that crumbled after a year or so. I will say that even though I had bought my set at a train show and didn't have a receipt K-Line stood behind the set and sent me new trucks....as long as I'd do the work. About a year later one of the trucks I had NOT replaced broke but I was able to epoxy it together.
