Restriping 2332-275 Lionel GG1: Completed project update

I bought Water slide decals for mine but have never applied them. To scared

I used the decals from train tender for my 2332. I am happy the way it came out, the hardest part is getting the decal across the vents and make it look like vents. The 2332 is a great running engine.

RJT - try them - what do you have to lose?

I've had one for many years now and should have the Janice Bennett rub-off set somewhere but have been chicken to try it too. Perhaps this year...   If I can find the set, would they still be viable after 25-30 years?

I used water to loosen the decal and used a 50/50 solve set/water to set decal in place and work in the grooves. Also a razor blade to cut in any gaps. The only thing I did to the surface was clean real good with damp cloth.

I just ordered a set of all of the decals. Nose and side heralds, pin stripes, Pennsylvania name and 2332 numbers. All waterslide - I have experience with that type of decal

Further to the above:

$50 invested in decals, and one hour's time, here are the before and after pics.

I am a happy boy.

Got 'em on the  bay from Lou Palumbo - Underground Railroad Shoppe in PA

They are all waterslide- just the way I like them. I trimmed the close to the graphics before using.
