I've never been a big fan of the DCS remote, specifically the lousy thumbwheel!  That being said, I'd much rather be running DCS with the Legacy or TMCC remote than the other way around.  Since that option still doesn't exist, I just use the TMCC/Legacy remotes with DCS/Legacy engines and the DCS Remote with DCS engines.

I didn't understand your comment in your third sentence that "....I just use the TMCC/Legacy remotes with DCS/Legacy engines and the DCS Remote with DCS engines." Did you mean to say "I just use the TMCC/Legacy remotes with TMCC/Legacy engines and the DCS Remote with DCS engines."?

UPDATE:

So today I decided to start over in an attempt to get this working.

1. Connected a transformer and ran in conventional mode. So far good.

2. Connected ONLY the Legacy base and it ran fine from the Legacy remote. Changed the ENG ID from 1 to 51.

3. Connected the TIU and powered up the TIU. The Legacy base was also powered up.

4. Added the TMCC loco to the DCS remote following the instructions on pags 58 - 59 of the DCS User's Guide.

5. Then followed the instructions on page 109 of the DCS User's Guide ensuring the newly added TMCC loco was moved from the inactive to active list.

6. Tried running the loco by selecting TMCC PEX 951 and nothing happens. Number boards are lit, but nothing else. Wondering if the Legacy remote needs to be on (it was in the base; only the base was powered on during this step).

Where did I go wrong or what step(s) am I missing?

AND - -

I wanted to enter Engine Type, Control Type, and Sound Type, but could not figure out how to get to the (Engine) Type tab to enter it. How do I move to the Type tab?
