Use a variable Chanel set to variable mode. Then use the TR screen's MTV soft key to set the power to start at zero volts instead of the default of 5 volts.

I believe that the ability to set 0 volts came along in DCS 4.30.

I do, I just finished testing with version 5     Starting voltage IS 5 volts.

Power supply  1033    Menu/system dcs set up/ selected the var channel and hit fix which toggles between fixed and var mode. Var channel is in var mode....

Back to TR  and select var 2 and the voltage shown is 0 volts,,,, fist click up it goes to 5 volts.

Then I tried setting up a tiu track with var 2 in var mode     same thing.  O to first click 5 volts.

Gregg, et al,

The default starting voltage for a TIU Track on a variable channel is, indeed, 5 volts. However, in the newer releases of DCS that voltage may be changed to as low as 1 volt, as follows:

  • Press TR and select a variable channel's TIU Track. Press the thumbwheel.
  • Press soft key S2, MTV.
  • Select Start Volts and press the thumbwheel.
  • Use the thumbwheel to scroll down to 1.0 volts, or whatever value you desire, and press the thumbwheel.

Now, the first click up on the thumbwheel will go to the starting voltage that you selected above. Successive clicks up will increase voltage in .5 volt increments.

FWIW, I just did this using my decrepit Rev. G TIU (with a dead Fixed #2 channel) and a remote with a blown transceiver board, tethered to the Rev. G, and it worked.

Yes, you'll need the 1/8" stereo jumper cable to update the TIU and the 4-conductor, curly, telephone handset cable to update the remote.

Be sure to follow the on-screen instructions exactly!

Gerry, The TIU & remote is the best way to operate the features of a PS1 engine. Instead of guessing what each feature number represents, the Remote has the feature number with a brief description display on the LCD screen. Select the feature, and the TIU automatically makes the appropriate throttle responses to program that feature.

If I recall correctly, I believe that the DCS Premium app does not have this functionality. It is only available on the DCS Remote.
