Based on the "purity" of the values and lack of grey in the photo, I would say the colors are black and white. Online photos of the NS heritage unit and this Lionel link with a caboose seem to confirm that guess.  How ironic -- it's possible that the "colors" are hiding in plain sight! :-}

Hope this helps,

p.s. Is that a "drum head" on the railing?

Hello,

IMG_3260yes I ended up making them- I have done both 253 & 256. 253 is a Williams brass PRR cab that I closed a couple windows. I still have to place the roof smoke jack. I love the color pic!!! I was working out of my book that is black & white and it looked like a white roof- thought that was odd- will be changed this week.  I don't know what to tell you about the ends- might drop a line to Allen Tuten at COG Historical Society.

I am also working on AS616's , I made decals for it as well and have one kind of done but I painted it blue- I guess they were green.

I'll check and see what I have left over-

Scott
