Since most of the recent Railking offerings from MTH have been re-runs and re-paints I have given up hope that they will ever make a PRR J1 or NYC Niagara.  The following, however, are some suggestions that should be relatively inexpensive yet add some interest and variety to the Railking line and translate to additional sales.

1. Scullin discs on the Commodore Vanderbilt, non-streamlined Hudsons and Mohawks

2. Number boards high on boiler front for UP FEF and NKP Berkshire

3. Smoke deflectors (Elephant Ears) on Mohawk and PRR S2 Turbine

4. Add classification lights to Mohawk

5. Use UP 49er mold to make NYC Mercury

I'm sure there are others.  Feel free to add to the list.

Well; in terms of things I personally have been hoping for; Railking 30 item number series GP7 in NKP livery and a PRR GP9. Will note here that I prefer the 30 series over 20 series Railking engines as they seem to perform better on my layout for whatever reason.

I finally decided to take matters into my own hands insofar as the NKP GP7 is concerned and am having a 30 series PS3 Railking GP7 custom painted for NKP.  Push comes to shove; I may do the same to get a 30 series Railking PRR GP9.

The new Railking Extended-Vision cabooses can also be produced in the Detroit & Toledo Shore Line paint scheme to match a Railking Detroit & Toledo Shore Line GP7 diesel-electric locomotive.

Which touches on one of my pet peeves in this hobby; one of the train importers offering an engine in a particular road name and not offering an applicable caboose at the same time.  A new engine and a new caboose just go together; sort of like “soup and sandwich”.
