Someone here suggested that I go to S scale. I didn't see enough modern stuff, when I switched to O scale 2 rail from G. A little after that, Lionel released modern diesels in S scale with scale wheels. It has always left me wondering what if?

Very nice videos! Still wondering....

S is the great "What if" scale. It IS the best size IMHO. It has had so many stops and starts and close, but not quite right. Here's one example - The new Lionel AF Cylindrical Hoppers are very nice models for a good price. They say they are Kadee scale coupler compatible and they are. I mounted Kadees easily and required no shims. They also say they are ready for scale wheels, but they don't offer them... To my knowledge there aren't any available anywhere else either. They did this with some of the diesels over the past few years as well. Frustrating.

I'm to the point that as much as I wish it were an option, I don't recommend S "scale" to anyone anymore if they haven't already been in it for decades. Hi-rail and Flyer are still options IMHO, but if you are just coming to S like I did 9 years ago you will likely be very frustrated. Especially since MTH is closing up shop soon. It is the great could have been scale. I liken S vs. HO to Betamax vs. VHS back in the day. Betamax was better, but VHS won out for some reason.

Item: I'm not too impressed with the NASG's "improved" web site though.  I thought the one they just retired was easier to navagate.  Any other S gauges feel the same way please raise your hand.

Nope, can't raise my hand on that one.  We can all now finally use tablets and smart phones to access the site.  This is a wonderful upgrade that took a significant investment by the Board and a huge amount of work by the webmaster.  After years of thinking of something I wanted to look up but having to wait until I got to my PC to do so, now I can use my devices as I do for every other online endeavor.
