Nice photos, John. I was on a Mediterranean cruise about 12 years ago and we took a side train trip from Livorno to Florence - unfortunately, it was just a local/commuter train…
I did get to see some of the flashier Eurostar trains in the Florence station…

One thing I noticed about the Italian language is its excessive use of double letters, lack of J, K, W, X, and Y, and a lot of words end with a vowel. I know a young missionary guy from my area in eastern PA who lives in northern Italy with his Filipino wife, and his young son and little daughter. He's over there to win souls for Christ. I think he has ridden on trains there.
