Suggestion for small area

Just build the Wicked Wanda’s kit and change the sign to a PG business name of your choice. 

I have a house of ill repute called "Bada Bing" which is portable.   I move it on and off the layout depending on who will be visiting ... kids or adults.  Of course I also have all the necessary accessories to go with it, which makes the scene even more interesting for ... adults only ...And they all seem to  smile and giggle once Bada Bing is spotted on the layout

I interchange this scene with a barrel warehouse.  The entire change over takes about 10 minutes.  

If you like WW you might think of a building you could easily trade places with WW.

Inasmuch as the area is somewhat away from the tracks and semi-secluded, how about installing the Lionel Hobo Campfire and the Hobo Hotel?  Just thinking out loud ...

Camp grounds...tents or small trailers.

A leveled-off area like that begs for a couple Lionel oil pump-jacks. 

Recessing the base level with the ground surface creates a near-scale believable scene, especially with the animation.

As much as I love the suggestions about the "Bada Bing", looks like a perfect spot for a camp ground.

A variety of suggestions, of places that appeal to a variety of imaginations:
+ a micro-beer craft brewery...

+a parochial school and church campus...

+ a rural snack-foods small business, side buildings, and parking, pull-in lot...

+ a tank-farm of modest proportions...

+ a suburban neighborhood of modest size...

+ and yes, a camp grounds..

They worked for me.

Maybe just a nice custom built elevated water tank with the town name on it in the color of your choice.

Frank, I’m such a fan of your timber scene, I think that would fit nicely.  With your permission, a couple photos.

For a structure, seems like any of the large Menard's buildings with some surrounding landscaping and parking would be a good fit -  like the new power & light or brewery or Tampa Towers.

I do like the tank farm. Very nicely observed.

When I saw the picture of that space, I immediately thought of that little corner of the Lionel Super-O showroom layout with the #175 Rocket Launcher tucked away up in the mountains.

How about a national park lodge? 

You could use the Menards Vetter Sash & Door building as the base building to build the lodge upon....My 2 cents. 

Since it’s in a mountain area how bout a nice man made lake.

Bar Mills Models makes a model kit of the Idaho Hotel. My model is shown below. Might be a good choice if it fits into your space.

Another choice might be several (maybe three?) miners cabins from kits offered by Banta Modelworks.

MELGAR, I checked out the Idaho Hotel footprint and it just won't fit because of the irregular shape. If the area shape was a perfect rectangle of 26" x 18" it would work, but if you look closely you'll see some spots are a lot narrower than 18". Same thing with the Vetter Sash & Door Co by Menards. However I appreciate the suggestion.

Have a look at the miners' cabins.

Another possibility is to make two models from Wanda kits. Build one as Wanda's and the other as something else - say Don's Mountain Spring Water... You would then be able to interchange them quickly whenever necessary.

According to the Bar Mills website, Idaho Hotel is 17 inches wide by 8 inches deep...

FrankM is the member.  @MOONSON     He has this very nice logging scene, and has provided a number of other suggestions earlier in this thread.

I like the switch out idea - build the scene on a diorama board with a quick plug for power - Wicked Wanda's and a Korber radio station #703/Tower or a #705 fire Tower scene for PG rated.

Of maybe the Overlook Hotel?

I hope all the folks with other suggestions don't get mad at me. I really liked the logging idea, but I think the hotel is the best fit.  I thank everyone for their thoughts and suggestions, Don

Good luck on your build and if possible please post the assembly on the forum. A lot of forum members including me are very interested in the wood craftsman kits.

I think the Idaho Hotel will look just right nestled into that hillside and surrounded by your outstanding stone modeling. Here are two more views of my Idaho Hotel. Post some progress pictures as you build.

                                                             My layout is long and skinny, 17 ft by  36" so I have a lot of small spaces.  These pictures while not nearly as accomplished as those posted by others are my attempt to "fill in" the small spaces.   The top photo is a stock Lionel building about 4" square and illuminated only cost about $11. Fills in a corner space where the outer loop turns.  Needs more detail I know but am working on it. The middle photo is me trying to use some of my prewar collected stuff...its an American Flyer freight station from about 1938 along with a Hornby loading crane (where I got this i don't remember) and a Plasticville outhouse.  the VW pickup van is a kids toy I bought at a local store.  It fills in the space between some O and O27 Switch machines at the head of the passing siding.  The final picture is my "Trackside Appartments" where all the traveling salesmen stay.  the footbridge is plasticville as is the passenger platform. It fills another corner
