I will start off today with the first house model I ever constructed. It was around this time in 1998 I built this model for my father-in-law of the house that he constructed for his family in 1967.

So, what do you do if you need an engine maintenance yard and the only available real estate is 12" x 36"? My solution was a mirror and a slightly unusual scratchbuild project:

This past week I posted a thread about my recent hole in the wall construction endeavors...this building flat was scratch built during that pursuit. So I will add this photo to the Sunday showcase in case anyone might have missed the posting earlier in the week.

Alan your details were impeccable even then. Avanti I followed your build and the final product is a definite hit. I used a MTH bank to make a city terminal. Cut a hole in the side wall and used an Ameri-towne 1st National Bank building front for the doors. Had to make the second floor windows into doors. Leveled the floor and printed a marble floor for it and detailed the interior. i borrowed a technique from Alex M and used Frosty Contac Paper in the big windows on the "back" side. I didn't realize the lintel on the right half of the doorway had dropped until I took the pictures so it was too late to re-position. I though about trying to fill it in but good luck matching the color.
