My last effort at scenery work on the Austin Tinplate Trackers Layout. I ballasted that module and built that road and grade crossing to fit my city scene. I used cork HO switch pads. It is just the right size for a two lane road in O scale and has a nice beveled edge. With some black or asphalt wash the the cork looks like some of the asphalt I've seen used on the back roads of Texas. Still looking for a good way to paint white stripes on it. Paint pens don't like the cork texture and neither does pinstripe tape.

Joe,

Thank you for your observations.

Boliermaker1,

Great scene. All you need is a mushroom cloud backdrop.

Bar,

very nice scene. I love seeing pictures of your layout.

Ricky,

The roads look good. The cork makes a great road. You may have to mask them with painters tape and spray on the white lines.

Alan. Thank you.

Johan
