I got my invoice from TCA in my email.
It is called a International Membership. It is not just Canadians.
Well, in light of the relatively limited benefits available these days, and especially for international members, an increase to that level (+50%) is not likely to do much for the organization's membership rolls.
At work, we've noticed steady increases in international shipping costs. I'm assuming mail rates have also climbed. I know TCA has a discount for paperless membership for US memberships. Do they offer a discounted paperless option for international members too? It might be worth contacting them to find out.

Is that $75 being charged US or Canadian funds? If CDN the exchange rate might have some impact here.

For what it's worth, I searched the TCA member list for people with addresses in Canada - got 88 hits. Not insignificant, but not a large number either.
that's 75.00 US, which is $104.25 Canadian.
I thought that international would be oversea.
Oh well, its TCA loss, because a number of members I talked to will Not renew their membership.
I've been a member for over 20 years, hard to say what the benefits are, other than going to York once in a while. Can't blame the Canadians!

I have checked the TCA website, and there is no mention of Digital/Paper free membership for $40.

The $40 paper-free membership is listed on page 20 of the May 2023 Nat'l HQ News. No mention of whether or not it is valid for non-US members, but I can't see why it shouldn't be.
The website leaves a bit to be desired.

Not hard at all...
Museum (a great collection and presentation), library (excellent historical archive), in-depth magazine, grading standards, enforcement of member conduct. Without TCA, who would provide these valuable resources? Would they be available if all of those things were in private collections? Well worth less than the cost of a box car.
I drive 550 miles each way to York, farther than some Canadians, and many US members drive farther than that.
After dumping OGR for advertising I will not be renewing and not canadian either. I am tired of the foolishness that comes with mis management of a organization to the point of not willing to change what they need to change to succeed & resorting to these sort of tactics.
It is inevitable that mail/paper-based memberships will continue to rise in price. I plan on going paper-free next renewal. I am already paper-free for both OGR and CTT. Yes, being paper free takes some getting used to……but , it is doable.

Paper-free, I still like to have a publication in my hands to read when I want. I spend too much time on the computer now, so I don't want to read a digital magizine online... That means the TCA member card would be printed on paper, and what about York booklet? Paperless is not for me yet.
